First Day

Upon arriving the ORH team was immediately introduced to Thai cuisine--some of the BEST food in the world! After that we toured the Ban Nam Khem Tsunami Memorial Park. The names of those who lost their lives (over 1,000 from this fishing village alone) are engraved on one wall, and the opposite wall is a replica of the destructive wave which was triggered by the 9.15 magnitude earthquake which took place off the coast of Sumatra on December 26, 2004.
